Saturday Fun Day

There’s an Irish proverb that says, "A good friend is like a four-leaf clover: hard to find and lucky to have.” We agree. Great Prospects CEO Michelle Jericevich notes, “Our participants sometimes become best friends, and interactions you would not expect take place on a daily basis.” Some of the best chances to socialize occur one Saturday a month when we invite GP participants of all ages to get together for outings and activities that are all about enjoying life and making friends.

On Saturday Fun Days, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., participants ages 16-40 who meet the eligibility requirements can enjoy a day out with their peers while families and caregivers take a break. Lunch is provided. This is a grant-funded opportunity for the community.

Participants’ favorite Saturday Fun Day activities include bowling, miniature golf, movies, spending time in the great outdoors, and experiencing cultural offerings in the metro area. And they can expand their social circle in the company of participants of different ages whom they might not otherwise have a chance to meet.

They’ve had fun interacting with real animals on visits to Zoo Atlanta, Georgia Aquarium, Scottsdale Farms, North Georgia Wildlife Park, and Petland Puppies, and traveling back in time to play with dinosaur lookalikes at Dino Safari USA.

Reservations for Saturday Fun Days must be made by noon on the Friday before the event because only 15 spots are available.

We do not supply personal pickup or drop off. Transportation services are for program activities only.
